The underwater treadmill has revolutionised the rehabilitation of small animals. Exercising in the underwater treadmill permits the animal to walk while its weight is supported by the buoyancy of the water.

Controlled swimming is also beneficial for dogs recovering from a range of musculoskeletal conditions. Swimming helps to increase joint range of motion. It improves strength and cardiovascular fitness without weight bearing or loading.

This is a major component of any rehabilitation or preventative program for animal injuries, surgical or degenerative conditions.

Patients recovering from injuries or surgery benefit from physical and Hydrotherapy as do those with degenerative conditions, back pain or poor mobility.

These therapies help to alleviate pain and enhance mobility.

Return to normal function is more rapidly achieved when using physical therapy methods.

These are aimed at relieving pain as well as restoring muscle and joint function.

The techniques employed include mobilisation of soft tissues and joints, massage, stretching and strengthening exercises.

Hydrotherapy is an integral part of our physical therapy programs.

The underwater treadmill is the first part of any rehabilitation program.

Underwater treadmill therapy is integrated with the home exercises and sometimes swimming as part of an individual's rehabilitation.
